Ahead of the November 16 Gubernatorial election in Ondo State, the International Press Centre (IPC) and Media for Centre for Society (CEMESO), implementing partners of component 4: support to media of the EU-SDGN II project have commenced a series of Radio/TV appearances to sensitise the electorates on safe, inclusive, and participatory election in Ondo State.
The intervention, which is a joint Civic and Voter Education activity by CEMESO and IPC, started with a one-hour live discourse on NTA Akure, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
The discourse included sensitisation of the electorates on the preparedness of the electoral stakeholders; INEC/Police, as well as calls for massive voter participation, assurance on security, and inclusive participation issues, etc.
The discourse on NTA featured Dr. Temitiope Akanmu, Head, Voter Education, INEC, Ondo State; Dr. Akin Akingbulu, Executive Director, CEMESO; and Mr. Lanre Arogundade, Executive Director, IPC.
The Radio/TV discourse shall include sessions with the Security Agencies, NOA, IPAC, and EUSDGN partners, and run through until election day on Saturday, November 16, 2024, across other media outfits such as: Orange FM, Positive FM, Fresh FM, Adaba FM, OSRC Radio Vision TV, TVC, as well as NTA Akure.
