Timothy Bamidele

Timothy Bamidele. a versatile personality, stands out as a highly committed individual, excelling in Project Management, Development Communications and Multimedia Journalism.

He currently holds the position of Programme Manager at the Center for Media and Society, CEMESO, a leading Non-Governmental Organisation in Nigeria and one of the partners Implementing European Union Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria, EU-SDGN II and also working with other International Freedom of Expression Rights such as IFEX among others.

An alumnus of the esteemed Radio Netherlands Training Centre (RNTC) in Hilversum, Timothy holds a degree in Linguistics from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso.

He has attended several training and won scholarships including United Nations Institute for Training and Research, UNITAR

With a career spanning nearly two decades, Timothy has cultivated a wealth of experience in teaching, journalism, development, and social work. His extensive background serves as a robust foundation for his various roles and reflects his unwavering commitment to making meaningful contributions to these fields.

Timothy’s career commenced in the field of education, where he served as a teacher, imparting knowledge in subjects such as Use of English, English Language, and Literature in English. His teaching experiences extended across different educational institutions, from his early days in the National Youth Service Corps at Government Day Secondary School in Jega, Kebbi State, to institutions like Fun Un To International School in Ilesa, Osun State, and Beulah Multikonsult. He also ventured into part-time teaching roles with Polytechnic Ibadan and the University of Ado Ekiti’s Satellite Campuses. Furthermore, he contributed to the educational sector by working as a teacher with the Osun State Government, specifically at Odo Ijesa High School. His involvement with major examination bodies, such as the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) and the National Examination Council (NECO), as an examiner underscores his commitment to educational excellence.

Transitioning into the realm of journalism, he joined Radio Nigeria, where he dedicated his efforts and talents to his work. Over time, he took on various responsibilities, ranging from reporting, editing, and commentary writing to producing documentaries. His journalistic coverage included the Osun State House of Assembly, Tribunal proceedings, and the administrations of two governors in Osun State, where he served as the Government House Correspondent, showcasing his dedication to staying at the forefront of media advancements. Timothy made significant strides in Radio Nigeria, ascending to the position of Manager New Media. Within this role, he is a trainer in digital literacy, digital news production, and effective utilization of social media tools. He has continued to impact numerous journalists and professionals through training sessions, sharing his insights.

Beyond his radio career, Timothy demonstrated his passion for community and social development by volunteering with Living Hope Care. His role as a Volunteer Project Manager and Measurement and Evaluation Manager allowed him to actively contribute to initiatives that made a positive impact on society.

Timothy’s journey took an international turn when he joined the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) as a Digital Media Assistant. In this capacity, he utilized his skills to support the UN’s mission and communicate vital information to a global audience through digital channels, showcasing his adaptability and global perspective.

Further highlighting his versatility, Timothy also served as a Digital Media Assistant in the Office of the Honourable Minister of Petroleum Resources. This role underscored his ability to adapt his expertise to different domains and contribute effectively to diverse teams and projects. As part of his impact, he consults for several organizations, including Harvest Points School of Ministry, based in Houston, Texas, United States of America.
