RECRUITMENT OF ICT OFFICER

The Institute for Media and Society (IMS) is an independent, non-governmental organization based in Nigeria. It aims to help build and improve the communication capacity and environment of the media, civil society and governance institutions to facilitate improved participation in democracy and development in Nigeria.

The Institute intends to recruit an ICT OFFICER

Position Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Length of contract: One (1) year with possibility to renew for a second year

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Manage content on all IMS websites
2. Produce maps and visualisations of the site to help stakeholders understand the structure and function of the website

• Work with the Communication and Visibility Officer to create and schedule contents/posts on all IMS websites and social media accounts

1. Manage all social media accounts of IMS
2. Build a solid IMS social presence
3. Build, track and analyse traffic on all IMS websites and social media handles

• Keep abreast with new trends in web technology
• Adhere to Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) rules

1. Monitor, assess and report on website performance
2. Perform related work as assigned.

Competencies

1. Familiarity with basic web technologies
2. Familiarity with information classification and management

• Familiarity with user experience and interface design

1. Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics
2. Excellent writing, proof reading and editing skills
3. In-depth knowledge on the use of photoshop, in design etc

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

• A Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in a relevant discipline

Experience:

• A minimum of three (3) years professional experience in the ICT sector.

Language Requirement:

• Fluency in both spoken and written English.
