Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs)

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has begun the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to eligible Nigerians, who registered in 2017.

Usman Ajidagba, the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), who disclosed this in Lafia, the state capital on Monday, said that the commission had taken delivery of more than 100, 000 of the PVCs for onward distribution to voters.

“For those who registered in 2017, we have collected not less than 100,000 PVCs, which are ready for collection,’’ he said.

He urged all those, who registered in 2017 to go to their various local government headquarters to obtain the cards.

Mr Ajidagba added that also available for collection were the PVCs transferred from other locations to the state.

He said that the commission was making concerted efforts to ensure that PVCs of those who registered this year were ready.

“We are assuring those who registered in 2018 that they would get their PVCs before the 2019 general elections.

“We are also appealing to eligible voters yet to register to come forward and do so in order to exercise their franchise since registration is a continuous process,’’ he said.

He called on the media and other stakeholders to partner with INEC to ensure that registered voters picked up their PVCs ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
