Dr. Akin Akingbulu has been honored with the Agents for Citizen-driven Transformation (EU-ACT) Awards at a ceremony held in Lagos, marking the conclusion of the successful 5-year EU-ACT programme.
The organizers highlighted Dr. Akingbulu’s unwavering dedication to sustainable development in Nigeria, noting his quiet yet immensely impactful contributions.
Over the years, he had tirelessly worked behind the scenes, often without recognition, but his efforts had significantly advanced the cause of the vulnerable citizens. The EU-ACT team commended Dr. Akingbulu’s leadership, which had fostered collaboration, facilitated dialogues, and improved regulatory environments, thereby laying the groundwork for flourishing sustainable development initiatives.
Similarly, the Centre for Media and Society , CEMESO, received recognition with the Award among Civil Society Organizations that participated in the programme.
Among the esteemed recipients of the Award was Mr. Lanre Arogundade, the Executive Director of the International Press Centre, whose commitment and contributions to citizen-driven transformation were also acknowledged.
